This last week our squad had some team changes. We went on a super fun scavenger hunt and found out our new teams at the end. So now I get to introduce you all to my new, ALL GIRLS team!!
This group of women is so sweet. It honestly reminds me of being home with my three sisters. I am so excited to be living life alongside them these next number of months. I am continually getting to know them but I want to give you a small glimpse into who they are. I’ll go from right to left in introducing them from the picture below.
First we have: Nancy Logan Philbrick – our worship coordinator
She is from “Texas and North Carolina, but I have deeper roots in Texas. BUT my driver’s license is from North Carolina and I file taxes in North Carolina.” (her exact words). Her favorite color is a mauvey pink, like a natural/neutral pink. And she is most looking forward to this team getting wacky for Jesus with the Holy Spirit leading us and fighting spiritual battles with our sword (she proceeded to lift up her Bible and use it as a sword). Nan is an absolutely HOOT and I am so blessed to be on a team with her. She has so much wisdom and I am excited to learn from and alongside of her.
Next is: Meggie – our team leader
She is from Lockport, New York. Her favorite color is bubblegum pink. And what she said about what she was looking forward to for this team was: “I agree with Nan.” But alongside of that she said that she’s looking forward to getting wacky, seeing some freaky stuff happen (via the power of the Holy Spirit baby !!!), having some cool conversations, leading people to Jesus, and listening to Armies by KB. Meg is one of the kindest human beings who I am blessed to have as my friend and my TL. On top of that, this isn’t the first team Meg and I have been on together, we served on the logistics team together and now we get to serve together in day-to-day ministry and I am STOKED.
Next is: Mak (aka ME) – one of the logistics gals
I technically was born in Elkhart, Indiana, but I was raised in Osceola, Indiana, and I am now living in Wakarusa, Indiana, a Hoosier through and through if you will. My favorite color is yellow. And I am most looking forward to being in community with God-fearing women who are different than me but love the same God I do and want to serve Him.
Finally we have: Elizabeth – the best treasurer in the whole world
Elizabeth is from Wytheville, Virginia. Her favorite color is mint. And she is most looking forward to building deeper trust with other females, and just seeing how God works in other peoples lives, and how well the body of Christ works together. Here’s what’s crazy, Elizabeth was on my last team, so I get to do life with her yet again and I am BLESSED!! One, because she is quite literally the best treasurer and I don’t ever have to worry about money issues thanks to her, but two, because of who Elizaebth is.Elizabeth is hilarious and isn’t afraid to challenge or push me in things. Grateful to serve with her yet again.
Now you may be wondering, what’s our team name? Well here it is:
W.W.W. – Wacky Warrior Women!!!
We threw this idea around as a joke at first but the more we thought about it, the more we realized that this stood exactly for who we wanted to be. We agreed that we’re all a little “wacky” if you will, both personality wise but also becasue of our fire for God and how the world perceives that. We want to be warriors of the Word and in prayer. We want those to be our weapons as we share the gospel to those around us. And then, well, we’re all women. I am excited to see us grow as women of God who are wacky as we allow the Spirit to lead us in what God is calling us to fight for.
