Today and tomorrow I sit for hours on end. I sit in airports. I sit in planes. I sit in vans and buses. All of the build-up and waiting, and yet we continue to wait. It’s exciting to finally be here. To finally be here in this moment, it all feels surreal.

I wanted to dedicate this blog to introduce some things to you guys. One, I want to introduce my team and the people I will be spending the first number of months with. Two, I want to introduce a bit of where I will be spending my first month.

MY TEAM – WITHOUT BORDERS

Here are the five lovely people. Going from left to right in the picture above we have: Travis, Clara, Paula, Mak (me), Elizabeth, and Matt. I get to do life and ministry with these sweet humans for the first part of my 11 months and I am beyond excited. Each person brings so much to our team. We are vastly different, but complement each other in such a beautiful way. These people are full of love and joy and laughter. I’ve known them for such a short time but I deeply love and care for these people already. If you want to get to know them even more and see where they’re at with their journey, check out their blogs below!

These humans have such a strong faith and love for God, amazing stories, and I am so excited to see how God uses us for His Kingdom.

ROMANIA

Our first country is Romania! We will be arriving there in a little over 24 hours. We have a really cool host that we will be partnering with when we get there and I look forward to sharing all that God does through their ministry.

Here are some answers to two of the most commonly asked questions about Romania. A big one I have had a lot of questions about is what the weather is like in Romania, and quite honestly (for all of my fellow Indiana folks), it’s almost the same kind of weather. It will be cold. I am leaving the cold Indiana winter to go to the cold Romanian winter. However, as I am looking at the weather app (which is a totally reliable source), it looks like it will be sunny where we will be which is a drastic change from where I am from during the winter.

Another big question is what food am I most excited to try? Okay so I had to do some research on this, but from what I have seen I am very excited to try mici, which one article quite literally described this dish as “the famous Romanian garlicky meat sausages,” and I don’t know about you (looking at you Big Al) but that sounds amazing.

So there you have it! My team and a teeny tiny intro to Romania. If you have any more questions or want to know anything, leave a comment or send me a text or email, and I’d love to give you more information!

Can’t wait to be writing to you all from ROMANIA!!!!
